TBZ test by Gunther Gantioler
The isotherm comparison between a traditional base beam and the Radicsol base beam shows how the insulated cross-members increase the temperature in the timber wall support zone.
Even without extending the insulation over the foundation, Radicsol delivers highly favourable Tsi-min and Ψ values, reducing the risk of internal mould growth and improving the building’s energy performance.

Steel-to-concrete connection
With flat brackets in accordance with UNI EN 14545, and with the same nailing pattern, failure occurs in the steel-to-concrete connection and is therefore brittle.

Steel-to-timber connection
With Radicsol brackets integrated into the concrete pour, and with the same nailing pattern, failure occurs in the timber-to-steel connection and is therefore ductile, with energy dissipation that is ideal under seismic loading.
